My Story

Hi! My name is Noureen.

20 years ago, I was working as an Environmental Engineer in a paper mill. I was working 60 hours a week and was constantly stressed, tired, exposed to smelly fumes all day. Starting a family seemed like an impossible desire with the amount of hours I worked and the hazardous conditions I was exposed to at the paper mill.

This is when I decided to take a leap of faith and transition my career into Learning and Development consulting to allow me flexibility in my schedule to raise a family. I had done a lot of training during my work experience and was good at it, but did not have a formal Instructional Designer degree (I had a Chemical Engineering degree), nor did I possess any formal training in the field or specific ID experience that I could put down on my resume. So I researched, took classes, and taught myself the skills necessary to be an Instructional Designer. A good bit of trial error occurred but nothing sharpens one’s abilities like overcoming or learning from failures.

Fast forward 20 years - I have now worked at large and small corporations in various industry sectors. I have helped many organizations save millions of dollars through productivity improvements related to training and learning development projects I worked on as both a freelance ID and as a full time employee.

I am passionate about teaching and coaching and want to show others that they can truly become successful in this field in Corporate America without acquiring a formal ID degree or having years of direct ID experience.
